CON EL DIÁRIO DEL LUNES - Metagame, Listas del Top 8 y Posiciones Finales hasta el Top 32

¡Qué bueno estuvo el Open del sábado!
Más allá de haber tenido una mala performance, me voy contento por el torneo en general, por el top 8 repleto de gente amiga y por un formato que está cada vez mejor. Esperemos que Avacyn Restored lo cambie para aún mejor.


Aprovecho, también, para felicitar oportunamente a Gonzalo Spampinato y Exequiel Iesari, dos de las muchas personas excelentes que el Magic me ha hecho conocer con el tiempo, por sus pasajes obtenidos para los GPs en el exterior.

El primer lugar era esperable y no llama la atención. Casi un cuarto de los participantes, eligieron el mejor y más famoso mazo de Standard: UW Delver. En su mayoría, las versiones respondían al esquema clásico, ya sea la lista de SCG o la de Watanabe. Hubo sí, algunos jugadores que se inclinaron por el modelo Delver Spirits, pero fueron los menos. Hubo sí, un solo jugador en el top 8 con Delver, dando a entender que el field estaba preparado para el mazo y que no todos los que lo eligieron saben usarlo a la perfección.

El segundo lugar es particular, pero esperable. MTGMulligan The Man me había dicho en la semana "vas a ver que va a haber mucho Esper" y no se equivocó. Con tres representantes en el top 8 (y uno más que se coló por la baja de Exequiel Iesari), el Esper Control demostró ser el mazo más exitoso del fin de semana. A partir de ahora, debe ser considerado Tier 1.

También sorpresiva es la cantidad de mazos Pod que hubieron. La versión preferida, en este caso, fue Naya, ya que es la más jugada en MOL y permite acceder a Huntmaster, que es un bichazo para el deck. Es lógico, como lo anticipamos hace unos meses, que tanto los mazos control (Esper) como los dependientes de la estrategia Pod, iban a verse beneficiados una vez que el formato se asentara, ya que ahora disponen de información más certera y pueden adecuar sus respuestas de la mejor manera posible.

En un segundo plano, nos encontramos con Ramp (en su mayoría, RG), Zombies (mayormente UB), BW Tokens y RG Aggro. Luego, sorprende la poca cantidad de Humans respecto del torneo anterior. Esto, sin embargo, es un buen síntoma, ya que el mazo dista de ser lo que fue y no debería ser tomado muy en serio. Nuevamente, veremos que sucede con Avacyn Restored a partir de la semana que viene.
